IELTS TOEFL IBT Speaking Test \/\/TOP\\\\



The exam cost $49 (USD) and may be taken from any computer that has a camera, audio and reliable internet. The exam portion of the Duolingo English test contains a series of speaking, reading, writing and listening exercises. Following the exam, there will be an interview portion that will ask you to respond to various prompts in 30 to 90 seconds. The exam will take about 45 minutes to complete and you will need either a passport, driver license, or national or state ID to show the camera. The score results are generally received within a few days of exam completion.




IELTS TOEFL iBT Speaking Test



Generally speaking, the TOEFL iBT and IELTS Academic are fairly similar tests. Both exams measure your proficiency in English reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Additionally, both exams are a common admission requirement for undergraduate and graduate education in English-speaking countries.


You will be required to submit TOEFL, IELTS or PTE scores if you do not hold a degree from a U.S. institution or from one of the English speaking countries (below). If you are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident with international credentials, you will still be required to submit English test scores if you do not hold a degree from one of the countries on the list at the bottom of this page.

The EIKEN Test in Practical English Proficiency is taken by a large number of students in Japan, making it the most administered English language proficiency test in the country. There are 7 Grades, and the test assesses your reading, listening, writing and speaking abilities.


Admitted students who score below a 27 on the speaking subsection of the TOEFL iBT will be required to take an English placement test at Princeton. Students who do not pass the test will be required to enroll in English Language Program classes.

Pearson Test of English (PTE) is a single consolidated test that includes both writing and speaking sections. The test is conducted entirely online. The number of institutes that accept and recognize PTE scores is gradually increasing.


Speaking test is an interview with the examiner which lasts up to 11-14 minutes. The test consists of 3 tasks. Task one is typically an introduction or an interview wherein the examiner asks the candidate for a personal introduction. The interview can go on for about 4-5 minutes. In the second task, a task card is given to the candidate containing a topic to speak on. 1 minute is given to jot down the notes and 1-2 minutes are given to talk on the given topic. At the end of the 2 minutes, the examiner can ask a couple of questions based on your topic. Task three is related to the previous task. The topic from task two is discussed in-depth and in an abstract way. This task can end up for 4-5 minutes. In some cases, the speaking test is conducted on a different day.

I remember there were twenty or thirty people in the room. The hardest part is the speaking test because when I was about to speak, and the person next to me also started to speak, then somehow I lost concentration because I could hear what she or he said during the speaking test."
